Alan Wake Doesn't have An Ending Yet

For the past five years, Remedy studios has been working on an interesting title called "Alan Wake". It's gone through many different changes, from a solid game, to being split up into chapters/episodes. With all that work put into it however, Alan Wake still doesn't have an ending.
"We really feel there needs to be a satisfying conclusion," says writer Sam Lake. "But at the same time, it needs to end in kind of a cliffhanger and we need to open doors for a larger story beyond this one.
"How Alan Wake as a whole will end? We have ideas and have mapped out the storyline quite far, but time will tell. I'm sure it will live a life of its own and things will change along the way. We certainly would like to do more, but ultimately if people want more, they will get more."

I guess this is one of the many positive things about an episodic release on the studios part, they will be able to tune not only the gameplay, but also the story itself to what the players will want to see.

Activision Shuts Down Red Octane

It seems that Activision was pretty serious when they announced that they would be holding back the number of Music game titles in 2010. Activision has just shut down Red Octane Studios, the only staff directly involved with instrument development remaining at Activision.

An Activision representative said recently, "As part of our overall strategy to release fewer SKUs for Guitar Hero in 2010 we are closing the Underground studios and relocating RedOctane to our Santa Monica headquarters under the leadership of David Haddad."

Valentine's Day Indie Bundle Shows Us Some Love

http://theindiebundle.com/If you read my review of "VVVVVV" you'd know that I have an unconditional love for all indie games, and today there's a bundle which contains some of the best indie games on the web, for one lovely low price.
"The Indie Bundle" contains 6 fantastic games, And Yet It Moves, Auditorium, Aztaka, Eufloria, Machinarium, and Osmos, for only $20.
All of the money is going straight to the developers themselves, which means there's no reason for you to hold back on this offer. Being a proud owner of all these games already, I'm unable to take advantage of this amazing deal, but I strongly encourage you to look into it!

Command & Conquer Classics Are Now Free!

Yo dawg! We heard you like free stuff so we gave you some free stuff on a day where you already got some free stuff, so you can play free stuff while you play more free stuff. It seems that EA is following the "free stuff" marketing campaign with their release of the Command & Conquer Classics.
The free games included in this well priced package include: Command & Conquer, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun with Firestorm and Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

I really hope this is just the beginning of free games, because I could sure get used to this!
Here's a link to EA's free package, it has free stuff in it.

FlOw Is Free Today On PSN!

FlOw, ThatGameCompany's first PSN game, is free for everyone who has a North American PSN account. It seems that Sony wanted to so something a little "sweet" for Valentine's Day(which is tomorrow by the way), and what could be more romantic than sitting in front of your TV all day tomorrow...

Although FlOw will be free until midnight, its expansion pack will still set you back $2.99. For a price of free however, there's no reason why you shouldn't own this little package of joy.

Uncharted 2 Gets New Multiplayer DLC and Trophies On Feb. 25

Naughty Dog's amazing Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is going to get new multiplayer maps, skins, and trophies on the 25th of this month. All of this content is going to rolled up into one neat little package, which will cost you $5 on the PSN store.
All of the content from this DLC pack is inspired by Naughty Dog's first PS3 title, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The 2 new maps will be based of the original Uncharted's first two levels, and the some of the skins include Drake, Elena, Atoq Navarro, along with few more.
Because Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was my Game of the Year in 2009, I am extremely excited to jump back in for some more 3rd person action. Although I'm really excited for this DLC pack, the one thing I would like the most, is new online Co-op missions.
What would you guys like to see in any up-coming Uncharted 2 DLC?

Darksiders Mystery Code Revealed!

When Darksiders shipped, there were several copies which contained a special code, but no one knew what it was for... until now. THQ has just revealed that the mystery code in question is for a free copy of Red Faction: Guerrilla for your choice of system. Either PS3 or Xbox360. As if a  full free game wasn't enough, the code also gives you a free "digital Hellbook disc featuring Darksiders art, videos, and other awesome stuff." There's is very small $5 shipping fee that you must pay, but it's well worth it.
I'm really happy to see THQ promote their games through such clever, and rewarding, marketing. I hope to see more companies follow in THQ's foot steps as free games are always welcomed by anyone in the gaming community.

I wasn't lucky enough to get a Darksiders mystery code, but if anyone has a code they don't want to use...don't hesitate to throw it over this way.    :)
